INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAC:
1) Download and install the latest DisplayLink driver from https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos
CATALINA: We strongly recommend you have a fully up-to-date macOS Catalina before installing DisplayLink driver. Also do ensure that your USB drivers and BiOS as up-to-date as well.
2) Restart the Laptop and Docking Station.
3) Follow these steps to enable the display (if the display doesn't work right away) - needs to be done within 30mins of installing the Displaylink Driver:
For Mojave Users:
https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004-macos-10-13-or-10-14-video-functionality-not-enab
For Catalina Users: two steps:
1. macOS Catalina introduces a new permission called "Screen Recording" in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy. Despite the permission name, DisplayLink driver does not record screen data, but requires that permission to access pixels and send them through USB.
2. DisplayLink driver still relies on a kernel extension. This means you will need to allow the extension within 30 minutes of installation in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, like with previous versions.
For BIG SUR: Install the DisplayLink Manager: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1638
It works as an Application so the only thing that needs to be done is to start it from the Applications folder.
AFTER ANY INSTALLATION:
Restart the Laptop and Docking Station. The displays should read within a minute.
